Readers welcome series on CPC’s history

A series of publications about the Communist Party of China’s history has been well-received by readers, a Party history researcher said.
Compiled and published last year by the CPC Central Committee’s Party History Research Center to commemorate the 95th anniversary of the establishment of the Party, 90 Years of the Communist Party of China sold 1.3 million copies during the past year, according to Wu Degang, director of the center.
“The series is one that exhibits Party history in the longest time span, with the most well-rounded, systematic contents among existing similar publications,” he said at a news conference on Friday, the day before the Party’s 96th anniversary.
“The series has received very positive feedback since being published and was listed among the ‘30 Chinese good books’ and ‘50 Chinese people’s favorite books’ last year.”
It took about six years for the series to be developed, with almost 100 scholars taking part, Wu added.
