This year marks the 28th anniversary for Shanghai's Pudong New Area, which grew from a vast field to become one of China's pioneering areas for reform and opening-up.

Pudong's GDP in 2017 soared to more than 965 billion yuan ($141 billion), accounting for one-third of the total in Shanghai.
