Meanwhile, Picasso's acquaintance with the photographer Dora Maar in 1935 is worth exploring. Dora Maar accompanied him through a painful and depressing period of life, and also witnessed the birth of the masterpiece Guernica through her lens.

Guernica, regarded by many art critics as one of the most moving and powerful anti-war paintings in history, shows the suffering of people and animals wrenched by violence and chaos.

Fortunately for Chinese art lovers, many of Picasso's great works will be unveiled at the Ullens Center for Contemporary Art from June to September next year, which will mark one of the most important Picasso exhibitions in China.
