China confident in ensuring national unity, ethnic solidarity

China has the full confidence and ability to break up any plot that destroys its national unity and ethnic solidarity or contains its development, Vice-Foreign Minister Le Yucheng said on Thursday.
He made the remark at a reception in Macao celebrating the establishment of the Office of the Commissioner of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in the Macao Special Administrative Region.
The entire Chinese people vow to be united and cut off the "black hand" in its internal affairs in order to firmly maintain the "one country, two systems" policy and safeguard national sovereignty, independence and territorial integrity, Le said.
Noting that the passage of a Xinjiang-related bill by the United States House of Representatives is another gross interference in China's internal matters, Le said that some anti-China forces are unwilling to see China's development and the success of the "one country, two systems" policy.
These forces are trying everything they can to create trouble on issues related to Hong Kong, Xinjiang and Taiwan, he said.
The vice-foreign minister stressed that today's China is no longer the weak country that was bullied by others a hundred years ago.
No power can stop the Chinese nation's historical progress toward prosperity and rejuvenation, he added.
