Chaoyang continues its green push with new parks and open spaces

Chaoyang will continue to improve its water environment in both urban and rural areas, upgrade facilities for sewage treatment and water recycling and enhance the capability for watercourse management, a local official said.
The district also wants to beautify the scenery along its river banks. The Liangma River project was completed earlier this year, with rubbish collection stations and parking lots replaced with footpaths, plants and children's play areas.
The Bahe riverfront space project got its section that runs through an embassy district approved for a facelift by the Chao yang development and reform commission recently. The project will not only improve the surrounding environment of the fourth embassy block in Beijing, but also work as a model for the treatment of the river afterwards.
The section is located in Dongba township and extends about 650 meters. It involves landscape and water conservancy projects, with a total investment of about 30 million yuan ($4.38 million), and is planned to be completed by the end of this year.
