Bilateral meetings promote friendship, mutual benefits

When meeting with Turkish President Tayyip Erdogan on Friday, President Xi Jinping said that the sound development of China-Turkiye relations conforms to the long-term interests of both countries and is also significant in deepening unity and cooperation among developing countries.
Xi said that China and Turkiye, both as major developing countries and emerging markets, have common interests in safeguarding their own rights and interests, pursuing development and revitalization and upholding international fairness and justice.
He underlined the need for both countries to solidify their political mutual trust, take real actions to respect each other's core interests, and consolidate the political foundation of their strategic relationship of cooperation.
He called on the two countries to focus on development cooperation, leverage the role of the countries' cooperation mechanisms and their respective strengths, advance the high-quality Belt and Road cooperation for more results, and make contributions to upholding global industrial and supply chains as well as food and energy security.
The two sides need to advocate true multilateralism, uphold international equity and justice, and strengthen cooperation in multilateral organizations, Xi said.
Erdogan commended the important progress in Turkiye-China relations in various areas and expressed the readiness to work with China to promote even more fruitful trade and investment cooperation between the two countries.
