Former senior legislator of Inner Mongolia arrested for suspected bribe-taking

BEIJING -- Du Zi, former vice-chairman of the Standing Committee of the People's Congress of Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region, has been arrested on suspicion of taking bribes, the Supreme People's Procuratorate said in a statement on Thursday.
The case was handed over to prosecutors for examination and prosecution following the conclusion of an investigation by the National Commission of Supervision, the SPP said.
Du was also former deputy secretary of the leading Party members group of the standing committee.
Further investigation into this case is still underway.
