Autonomous vehicles navigate river port in Guangdong

Integrating cutting-edge technologies — including AI and big data — and logistics has been actively promoted at the Jiangmen port, a subsidiary of Sinotrans Ltd, one of the largest logistics companies in China.
"By implementing measures like intelligent transformation, utilizing green energy and promoting green operational models, the river port aims to advance the smart upgrade of port management and services comprehensively," said Zhang Tao, general manager of the port.
The port has been addressing efficiency bottlenecks using AI and scenario-based applications to reduce the heavy reliance on manual labor and lagging resource allocation found in traditional port operations.
"The smart practice not only precisely meets customer demands but also achieves end-to-end visibility, control and optimization of the supply chain through intelligence," said Zhang.
