2010年，中共中央辦公廳、國務院辦公廳印發了《關于領導干部報告個人有關事項的規定》，需要如實匯報的個人事項(personal matters)包括婚姻狀況(marriage status)、出國(境)(overseas travels)、收入(income)、配偶及子女從業(the employment status of their spouses and children)、本人、配偶及子女的投資(investment)、股票(stocks)、基金(funds)、房產(property)等14個方面。2015年，因不如實報告個人有關事項(be dishonest in filing personal reports)等問題被取消提拔資格(be disqualified from promotions)的副處級以上干部有3900多人，受調離崗位、改任非領導職務、免職(removal)、降職(demotion)等處理的124人。
