There's a new thrill in Hefei, now that it has added eight high-quality routes, including 'volcano trips'to Dashu Mountain.
Hefei started a countryside-experience tourism campaign three weeks ago, which gives local people and visitors alike a wider range of one-day tour choices, all for less than 100 yuan ($16.18), weekends included.
The latest addition to the existing countryside experience is the more eye-catching volcano exploration route. Tree-shaded Dashu Mountain was a volcano a long time ago and volcanic evidence is still around. Visitors can get a close look at the crater and waterfall.
The Dashu Mountain Information Center, still under construction, is located in the 1912 Block of Hefei. It will make the trip to Dashu Mountain more convenient.
Hefei is also planning a water industry route and making a greater effort to develop its 'agritainment' business, a fairly new form of tourism that gives people a real rural life experience.
