In a few years, anyone who wishes to visit the Dashu Mountain Forest Park will be able to take the subway from Hefei and visitors will be able to go on a so-called “volcano visit” as Dashu Mountain was once a volcano.
The authorities are building the subway Line 2 which will have three stations –with 10 exits - in the Dashu Mountain area. The construction of the three stations will start in the second-half of this year, and the underground space will also be commercially exploited. In addition, the Anhui Hall of Fame will be transformed into a tourist service center.
The Dashu Mountain Forest Park will have a total of 16 parking lots, including the three existing ones. And, during peak periods, 800 more temporary parking spaces will also be available.
The park is divided into seven landscape functional areas, with attractions such as Penjing ('bonsai' in Chinese) Mountain and the forest in the western part. Visitors can also opt for leisure activities such as fishing or kite flying in the Shufeng Bay area. But many people will perhaps be looking forward to a 'volcano trip' at Dashu Mountain, just a subway ride away from the city.
