Shen Biao, a deputy to the 13th National People's Congress (NPC) and Party secretary of?Beiguan village, Jiading New City in Shanghai, said that he will work hard with his fellow villagers to explore new ways to accelerate rural revitalization, according to local news reports May 22.
Shen said that he was very impressed by this year's?Government?Work?Report, which said that the central government will implement poverty reduction and rural revitalization measures, ensure the supply of important agricultural products, and raise rural living standards, which sets the course for the development of agriculture, rural areas and farmers.
"I will learn from the pioneering spirit of officials working at the primary level, and work with the villagers to pursue a characteristic way for the rural revitalization of Beiguan village," Shen said.
Shen has worked as director of the?village?committee for 34 years, and he said that village?cadres should adhere to helping?people?achieve a?better?life.
In the future, the village will accelerate its industrial?upgrading?and?economic transformation, in an effort to attract more investment and improve public services in rural areas, Shen said.
As the only deputy who works at?the?grass-roots?level in Shanghai, Shen suggested at the two sessions some ways to improve the management of rural housing construction, contracted?land and collectively owned land.
