Chinese Foreign Minister Yang Jiechi has met with British Prime Minister Gordon Brown in London.
Yang said relations between China and Britain have enjoyed good momentum for development, and bilateral ties in such areas as trade, culture, and education has been further deepened. Britain remains the biggest investor in China among European Union members.
Yang Jiechi says the Chinese government highly values developing relations with Britain, and hopes Brown's visit to China in January will help push forward the development of a Sino-British comprehensive strategic partnership.
Brown says he is looking forward to his trip to China, and will work with Chinese leaders on further strengthening bilateral ties.
Yang also met with Alistair Darling, chair of the China Task Force, and Simon McDonald, head of foreign and defense policy.
